Albatron GeForce FX 5200 Ultra

Ok, let's take a quick look at the line-up of tests we'll be using. Getting it out of the way first, we'll start with both 3DMarks. Then after you guys have fun blasting me for using them, you'll get to take a look at the gaming benches we've lined up, such as:

  • Quake 3

  • UT 2003 (using [H]ard|OCP's benching program)

  • Code Creatures

  • Comanche 4

  • Aquamark

I figure five different gaming benches should do the trick. What's that you're asking? You in the back row there. Oh, what kinda test rig am I running? Ok, well take a look.

And as a base comparison, I'll use the Asus GF Ti4200 in the 128MB flavor. First out of the starting gate is going to be 3DMark 2001 and 2003 so we can get that out of the way and move to bigger and better things. (And yes I've installed the 3DMark patch in case anyone is interested).

1/19/2004

We have pulled this and all our 3D Mark 2003 scores as a result of our perception that Futuremark's 3D Mark 2003 results are skewed and unreliable.  As such, are not an effective measure for measuring performance.  For a further explanation click here.

I'm using both 3DMark's to show that the Albatron GF FX5200 is indeed DX 9 compliant. We all know that 3DMark 2003 is biased towards DX 9 capable cards and therefore the 5200 should and does score higher. Ok, that's done....Now on to the gaming benches!!
