Albatron GeForce FX 5950 Ultra

Overclocking

Using the CoolBits registry key we fiddled and monkeyed with things until we found the Albatron 5950 UV cards limit.  'Limit' being defined as zero artifacts or abnormalities being visually detectable.  Again, the stock settings on the 5950 UV are 475/950.  We hit the wall on our card at 516/1020.  That's 1.02 GHz boys and girls.  Remember the all out brawl and crawl by AMD and Intel to break the GHz mark?  Well, we have memory on a VGA card doing it now.

Revisiting UT2003, Serious Sam and the Futuremark benches, let's see what she'll do.

Not a bad showing but I was expecting more.  I'm thinking that the 5950 UV is so close to its cap that room to "play" has gotten squeezed.  Let's move on to Serious Sam.

Gains with Sam aren't even really statistically significant.  Let's see what we see with 3D Mark 2003 and 2001 SE.

Again, some gains but nothing that will rock your socks.
