Introduction

The six month cycle is once again upon us.  What does this mean?  It means the big VGA players in the market are getting ready for the next VGA chipset release.  The word on everyone's tongue is the GeForce FX.  I for one, am expecting to see great things from this card.  I am also going to be one of the vast majority who cannot afford to drop $300-$400 on a new card.  This is the plight for most of us.  The up side to this, is that the current high end cards on the market are getting their prices cut steadily each day.  The GeForce 4 Ti-4200 has long been known as an excellent value with especially long legs when it comes to overclocking.  So much so, that many have been able to overclock a Ti-4200 to Ti-4600 specs.  In a nutshell, the Ti-4200 should be on the short list of upgrades for everyone not related to Donald Trump.

Today, we are fortunate enough to have a BFG Asylum GF4 Ti-4200 on the grill.  This chipset has been around long enough that I'm not going to get into detail on the features of the chipset but rather focus on this card's real world performance.  Let's look at the white paper before we go on.
