HIS Radeon HD3850 TurboX 512MB VGA

Nice gameplay with no noticeable bumps or shudders.  We are definitely seeing a trend developing however with the HD3850 trailing the 8800 GT.  With this TurboX card being touted as being faster than the HD3870, I think we can begin to make some inferences.

The Need For Speed franchise has a long and very successful history.  NFS: Pro Street is no different.  Running the track in 1600 resolution with all settings turned 'on' or set to maximum, let's roll our RX-8 around the track.

Min  Max  Avg
8800 GT 36 86 70
HD3850 38 63 54

Silky sweet gameplay in what is the most intricate and beautiful graphics yet seen in the NFS series.  The HD3850 performs nicely albeit substantially slower than the 8800 GT.  Keep in mind that this card is two-thirds the price and is available now.

We have started including Futuremark's 3D Mark 2006 at the request of a number of you.  Synthetic benchmarks can give you some ball park ideas of performance but as we have said in the past - when was the last time you multiplayed a canned benchmark at a LAN?
