HIS Multi-View

Installation took no longer than a few clicks with the software and a fast reboot.  After that, no reboots were necessary and I could hot plug the unit in at will.  Below is what the physical setup looks like connected to my bargain hunter's prize of a 42" LCD.

With the software you have the ability to either mirror the primary monitor display onto a second monitor.  This would be extremely useful in a presentation or during an instruction session with the presenter working the laptop connected to a much larger display.  You can also use the second (third, fourth, fifth and/or sixth) monitor to be an extension of your primary display.  The software allows you to designate its placement as to the right, left, up or down of the primary display so mouse movements feel natural.

As you can see above, there is also on the fly adjustments to adjust screen resolution color depth and screen rotation.  There really isn't a whole lot to say after we got the software installed and plugged in another monitor other than the HIS Multi-View worked exactly as it was described.

Conclusion

We played around with the HIS Multi-View adapter in a number of applications ranging from business in displaying Power Point presentations to loading songs my IPod to watching the car chase sequence of Ronin while I worked on a review.  The USB connection allowed for smooth playback of the DVD and gave us a clean image on the other end.  It also showed its usefulness with a prime area of concern for business persons, portability.  Being able to travel and hook into another display is something I have wanted personally for some time when I'm on the road.  With the HIS Multi-View unit, you have that in a compact and easy to carry package.

The HIS Multi-View adapter allows extremely quick and easy expansion of workspace.  Whether it is for a classroom presentation from a laptop to a larger display or for the uber geek who wants up to a half a dozen monitors around his/her desk to do some true multi-tasking, the HIS Multi-View adapter does a great job.  From box to being used took hardly more time than a system reboot.  After that first installation reboot, using the HIS Multi-View adapter took as much time as it takes to plug in a USB plug.  A great product with a variety of uses.  A product we can heartily recommend.
