H.I.S. Radeon X800GT IceQ Manufacturer: Hightech Information Systems by Brian Tiller (10/4/2005)
Introduction Recently all the VGA talk has been about nVidia's new 7800GTX and GT cards and people asking where is ATi's answer. While we still haven't seen ATi's newest lineup of big gun cards to answer this, they have quietly taken aim at the mid range market that nVidia holds with it's 6600GT series cards. With no fanfare or release parties, the X800GT arrived on scene a little more than a couple of months ago and today we've got our hands on one. We've done quite a few reviews of HIS products in our time and with a few small discrepancies, we've always found them very solid. The X800GT that they've handed over to us for testing is sporting their signature IceQ cooler. Before we get ahead of ourselves, take a look at the specs so we can get this review rolling along. Specifications:
If you've read any other X800GT reviews, you'll notice that the engine clock and memory clock speeds of HIS' model are running a bit higher. This is the iTurbo feature that is built into their overclocking tool. The default settings on installation are 475 for core and 975 for memory. |
