HIS Radeon X850XT IceQ II iTurbo VIVO (AGP)

Doom3 is designed to work best with NVidia products, so let's see how well the X850XT can hold its ground.  Loading up The Tech Report's TRDemo2 and TRHaze, let's take a look.

The initial demo TRDemo2 showed a near dead heat.  In the TRHaze demo we get a decidedly different picture.  The X850XT iTurbo walked the dog, cat and grandmother all over the comparison NVidia card.  Keep in mind that the X850XT is a 256mb alternative that is almost twice the cost of the vanilla GeForce 6800.

Image Quality

Raw speed with all the details turned off doesn't win races anymore though.  The HIS X850XT iTurbo gave us a spectacular show with the eye candy on.  Below is part of a screen shot from Flat Out.  Again, what a great game made even better by the HIS.
