Inno3D GeForce 8600 GTS iChill NFS: Most Wanted is a bit dated but continues to be an excellent litmus to measure graphical performance with. Again all settings were set to their max with the exception of FSAA to 0x and screen resolution to 1600 x 1200.
A much closer run this go round. The performance gap has shrunk to a mere 3 fps difference. Our last game to be benchmarked gets multiple runs from us with multiple settings. STALKER is a first person shooter that offers such detailed graphics that it can (and frequently is) a system buster. One of the major options is the choice between 'Full Dynamic Lighting' and 'Object Dynamic Lighting.' Full Dynamic Lighting (FDL) within STALKER means that basically the sun and grass shadows are turned on and up to create one beautiful gaming experience. While the game is very taxing with or without this turned on, it only seems right to put the screws to our test cards today with vigor. Our first run will be at 1600 x 1200 with Full Dynamic Lighting (FDL) and antialiasing turned off.
As I said, system buster.
Obviously these frame rates make the game difficult to enjoy with so much slow
and shudder. The point however with this bench was to see how efficiently
the Inno3D could push pixels against the wall within the parameters of our test
bed. Pg 1 -
