AOpen XC Cube EZ65

What you get

Included with the XC Cube are two power cables, SATA cable, IDE ribbon cables for FDD, HDD and Optical Drives, manuals, driver and utility CD, an instructional DVD, square of soft cloth (I have no idea for what), screws and a SATA power adapter connector cable.  The manuals were in triplicate.  One was written in English the other two were in...  two other languages - hey, I'm not a linguist.

In examining the EZ65 Cube, we immediately see how small the unit is.  Our test unit came with a smooth white paint job over its aluminum housing.  The face shows one 5.25" and one 3.5" externally accessible bay.  The lower door opens up to expose a variety of ports.  SPDIF, Speaker, Mic, USB 2.0 x 2, a 6-pin IEEE 1394 port as well as a 4-pin IEEE1394 port.  The two open doors you see in the pic on the bottom right are opened by depressing the top right corner of the drive tray.  The optical drive bay is opened by the small silver button you see to the right and between the two upper doors.  What we didn't mention was the power button.  When running, the small ring around it lights up as your power on lamp with the smaller lamp underneath being your HDD activity lamp.  No reset button though.

Both the left and right side panel are vented to allow airflow in and out of the case.  I would have liked to seen the left side panel venting positioned more toward the rear of the panel.  This is because if you install your own VGA card, things get pretty tight and the air flow over the GPU heatsink/fan would have been nice.
