AOpen XC Cube EZ65

Moving to the case rear we see what looks like one BIG PSU fan.  Its not, it is only an 80mm but this further shows how small this box is.  The rear I/O panel sports a printer port, PS2 mouse and keyboard ports, COM port, VGA out, SPDIF in and out ports, IEEE1394 6-pin port, NIC, USB 2.0 x 2, mic jack, speaker jack and an external sound input jack.  Between the front and rear ports there are enough jacks to keep even my father happy.

The two expansion slots have an unusual but very effective and likeable locking mechanism.  A single screw holds a small hinged plate in place that acts as the locking mechanism for any cards you install.  VERY very cool!

The XC Cube cover is fastened by three thumbscrews on its rear.  Removal of these exposes the case interior.

From the previous pics you can see that the processors heatsink/fan is oriented as a side flow number.  This will be assisted by the large section of venting on either side of the case.

The sink is aluminum fins mounted to a copper plate that measures 83 x 69 x 6mm.  The finish was not the bright reflection we have gotten used to but appears more than adequate for its job.
