Introduction

Apevia has been in existence for since 1999 and over the years has released a number of high feature budget conscious cases.  Many names such as the X-Pider, X-Dreamer, X-Alien and X-Gear to name a few, will be very familiar to many of you.  Apevia has all the cases they make (or made) on their site here; as in all 139 models in each color scheme if you are into a little case history.  The newest addition to their line up is the X-Jupiter G Junior Type case.  The Junior Type denotes this case is a more cost friendly alternative to the full size X-Jupiter case where the 'G' and 'S' designates a window w/120mm fan and no window w/250mm fan respectively.

For review today, we have the X-Jupiter G Junior Type case on deck.  The budget oriented case brings lots of cooling, a windowed side panel and a few very nice accessibility features to the table with a $75 price tag.  Let's have a go with this rig.  But not before we thank the Apevia crew for sponsoring this review.

The Junior Jupiter

The Apevia X-Jupiter G Junior Case is a windowed version of the X-Jupiter with a 120mm blue LED fan in the right side panel.  If you are curious as to what was taken off the full on X-Jupiter to make it our more cost conscious X-Jupiter Junior, the changes are small but significant.  Cutting back on the locking side panel, quad 120mm exhaust fans and dual rheostats add up and allow the end user to still get a high quality case for decidedly less money.

Shifting focus to our case at hand we find a snappy looking blue model on our bench.  The X-Jupiter Jr. is offered in any one of four color schemes; blue, black, silver or gray.  Right off we find the lines of the X-Jupiter Jr. to be on the conservative side which is a welcome change to many gamer cases out today.  In spite of the Apevia X-Jupiter Jr. being made of steel it tips the scales at a respectable 8.4 kg.

The front bezel is styled around an angled screen on both the upper and lower sections.  Apevia's company name is vertically labeled on the top edge in acrylic which obviously has some lighting effects behind it.  A horizontal bar of sorts is positioned just below the middle and in addition to a power and hard drive indicator lamp, it sports a small 32 x 16mm LCD display.  Under power this is designed to show temperature readings for two thermal probes inside the X-Jupiter Jr.  The small silver knob next to the LCD is a rheostat allowing for fan control of whatever fan you wish to plug into the Molex it connects to.
