Chieftec Dragon DX-01 Aluminum Case

Supplied by:  Xoxide
Price:
$77 / $96 with windowed side panel

By Dean Barker (1/20/2002)

Introduction

Typically the larger names like Lian Li or Cooler Master take a lot of the spotlight when it comes to "enthusiast's boxes."  Chieftec cases are far from being out of the limelight but they often times seem to be seen in the realm of "solid second choices."  The more I thought about this, the more I decided that the Chieftec aluminum cases when you put price into the equation, offer the best value for your case dollar from what I have read.  Especially now that the Chieftec can be purchased in one of multiple colors - red, blue, green, yellow, black, or silver.  An e-mail and a few days later, a new Chieftec Dragon Colored Case showed up courtesy of Xoxide.  Priced at $96 and $77 respectively for windowed and non-windowed versions, we jumped right in to check things out and see how well this case stacks up.
