Chieftec Dragon DX-01 Aluminum Case

Starting off at the front, we see that the DX-01 is of aluminum construction except for the front bezel.  The bezel is a two part assembly.  The upper section is a drive bay door, that blends in nicely, giving the box some very clean lines.  A lock is there to keep unwanted visitors out if you want.  (In my house, I have a 5 year old and a 1 1/2 year old and I can tell you a locking bezel door is welcome thing!)  Your standard power on and reset buttons are present along with power and HDD activity lamps.  You will also notice on either side of the 5.25" bay covers, some small finger holes of sorts.  Make note of these, we'll be coming back to them.  On the outside of the door is a spot for a case badge of your choosing if that's your fancy.

The lower door has several rows of arching slits that allow plenty of air to be vented in by way of twin 80mm intake case fans.  Near the top of the vents is a small access door that hides two USB and one Firewire port.

Looking around back, we see room for two 80mm exhaust fans.  A what is quickly becoming standard, top mounted blow hole was absent but with twin 80s in front and rear I think that would be overkill.

The side access door of the Chieftec offers the option of a full size window.  The side door, like the front bezel, has a locking handle to keep little hands out.  Opening the handle allows the side panel to swing out and off exposing the case interior.
