Cooler Master 922 HAF Case Access ports are immediately above the uppermost bay and consist of two USB ports, audio out, mic in and an eSATA port. Above these (right to left) are the reset, power and fan LED buttons. Reset and power need no explanation but the fan LED button is an inline switch that allows power to be cut to the LED lights on a desired fan if desired. Obviously, you have to have a fan that has power to its impeller blades and lights separated to take advantage of this but the included 200mm front intake fan is just such an animal. Here is a closer pic of the top mounted 200mm fan that makes for one monster blow hole. The 200mm fan you see below is included with the Cooler Master 922 HAF. If you look closer you will notice that there are mounting points to install two 120mm fans here instead if you choose. And... assuming you don't get an overly fat radiator, a 240x120mm radiator could be mounted here too if you like. Granted, if you want to place fans on the radiator for active cooling you will have to mount the assembly externally on top to ensure the fans don't interfere with the mainboard. The left side panel has been pressed with a trapezoid shape of sorts. In its middle is a stamped grating to allow for additional venting for the case. Here again are a number of fan mounting points. A 200mm or two 120mm fans can be installed here if so desired. Surprisingly, there was no tight mesh over this area to serve as a dust filter as was the case on the front intake fan and the bezel area. Turning things another 90 degrees we have the rear of the case. The power supply mounts at the case's bottom which is my personal preference as it makes cable routing much easier. Above it are eight expansion slots; seven in their traditional location with on set a few inches to the right and perpendicular of them. The latter spot would serve for a expansion slot mounting rheostat or for extra USB/Firewire port additions that come with a number of motherboards. The included rear exhaust fan is a 120mm unit. Adaptability must have been way up on the design parameters of the Cooler Master 922 HAF as the exhaust fan area is drilled to accept 80 or 90mm fans instead of the 120mm if choice or necessity dictates. The two black holes above this area are rubber covered inlet ports for installation of an external water cooling system. This is a much cleaner look than running smaller OD hose out of an expansion slot. With these ports you can use up to 1" OD line. The right side panel has the same design as the left, just without the venting area. This side represents the only part of the case that doesn't actively promote airflow.
