Cooler Master Storm Scout Case

The bezel pops off with a firm tug to its top and bottom.  Once removed we get a better look at the filter material and how it is laid out over the entire bezel area.

For my part, I'm always curious as to how tight a foam filter's mesh is.  Take a look.  As you can see the foam screen is held in place by tabs of metal bent down on top.  Each filter can be easily removed from the case to be cleaned with more case should the end user desire.

The front of the case without the bezel cover shows us the bays as well as the included 140mm red LED cooling fan.  There are also mounting holes allowing you to swap in a 120mm fan is you like.  The fans that come included with the Cooler Master Storm Scout are like those of the Storm Sniper.  They are all prewired with the LED lights being powered off different lines that connect to a button.  This button allows the lighting to be turned off and on at will.

Popping the bezel back in place, let's continue our tour.  At the top of the case front is the control and input/output panel.  From left to right we have the reset button over the square power button, the hard drive activity and power lamps over the external SATA port, the LED light on/off button over the audio out and mic in ports with four USB ports all laid in a line to the right.  The entire area is on a 45 degree angle which will be welcome to folks who keep their rigs on the floor.

The top of the case has a plastic handle built into it.  The handle is plastic as I said but feels fairly robust.  With a system installed, we never felt any concerning flex at all.  As with the Cooler Master Sniper, the Scout also has a top mounted exhaust fan.  The included fan is a 140mm fan as was the one up front we saw.  Just as the front fan, it too can be swapped for a 120mm unit is desired.  The included unit is not an LED number however.
