Syntax EZ-Clocker Small Form Factor System

Now speaking of the CD drive, let's take a look at installing it. It immediately became apparent that the front bezel had to be removed. Unfortunately the manual did not cover this at all, which could cause a newbie to become confused.

After removing the bezel, I placed the drive into place in the bay, which also doubles as structural support, yet another space saving feature of the EZ-Clocker. One other minor issue is the fact that once installed, you cannot access any of the buttons or headphone jack on the drive. While this really isn't a big deal in my book, I would be remiss if I didn't point this out.

Installation of the HDD is easier, as the drive bay is removable. Located on the opposite side of the CD drive bay, it is oriented in an up-down direction.

This is held in place by a single screw at the top which when removed, allows the drive cage to be lifted up along rails and removed.

Unfortunately, there are only two power plugs coming off the PSU. This means that if you are going to use an add in VGA card which utilizes an external plug, you will need a cable splitter in order to plug it in

The last thing I wish to bring to your attention before we move on are the IDE cables. Syntax rounds these cables for you in order to reduce clutter and increase airflow.

Not only did they round the cables, but they also encased them in a plastic sheath. Attention to detail is always a plus in my book.

It's time to turn the page as we put finish installing a system in here and fire it up to take a look at the BIOS.
