Kingwin K-11-BK-WM Aluminum Case
By Josh Thompson (9/04/2003)
Introduction Kingwin has been manufacturing computer products since 1992. Starting with hard drive disk racks early on and then moving to high quality aluminum cases. They have recently become a top player among aluminum case manufacturers. Kingwin cases are very high quality and flashy with most of them having front access to USB, sound and IEEE 1394 ports on the front for easy access. The case we have here is a beautiful black and brushed aluminum, windowed case courtesy of Kingwin. Lets take a closer look at the new K-11-WM Aluminum Case. Specifications
The front of the case is very attractive. Kingwin made the wise choice of shipping the case with a protective film over the front to protect the acrylic from obtaining any scratches during shipment. The case has four 5.25" bays as well as two 3.5" external drive bays. The bay covers are a nice brushed black anodized aluminum finish which goes very well with the silver and chrome surroundings on the front of the case. The acrylic on the front of the case is held on by six chrome thumbscrews. When the thumbscrews are taken off you can then pull off the acrylic cover to reveal the brushed aluminum silver plate behind that gives it it's sparkly silver color. Towards the bottom of the front there are vent holes in the shape of an oblong diamond which look fairly impressive. |
