Kingwin KT-424 WM Aluminum Case
By Dean Barker (7/18/2003)
Introduction Kingwin has been around since 1992 producing primarily heatsinks and drive racks. Over the past year or two they have been expanding their product lines to include a wide range of products. Kingwin put out their first high end case in May of 2002, the KT-436 and KT-436-WM. Both cases were well received by the hardware community due to the long list of features and the quality of their construction. Here we are a year later and Kingwin has made some changes and has a new flagship case, the KT-424. As you will soon see the KT-424 puts into place many more things than just a face lift. Today we are fortunate enough to have a look at one of these new cases for a lap around the track. We want to extend our thanks to Kingwin for making this review possible. Let's start things off with some specs. Specifications
Starting at the front bezel, we can see that Kingwin has moved to more of a clean line look for the KT-424. Gone is the colored acrylic colored front bezel cover and the accompanying oversized mounting screws for it. What we have are four 5.25" and two 3.5" drive bays and a finely blue tinted intake fan cover made of a wire mesh of sorts.
