Introduction

Mention the words Lian Li and everyone instantly thinks of exceptionally high quality cases.  Lian Li has been around since 1983 so I think its safe to say they have a little experience in what they do.  In the past several years they have branched out their manufacturing prowess in chassis manufacture to cases of every size, drive racks, panels, specialty windows (i.e. Aquarium panel) as well as probes, bezel covers and mouse pads.  Lately, they have been putting more attention into their "economic" line of cases.  Mixing high quality with selected features is a difficult trick.  Today, courtesy of Hampton-Technologies, we have the Lian Li PC-7 H on the block to see just how well Lian Li did in balancing price with features and quality.  First, off to the specs.

A Look Around

The Lian Li PC-7 is offered in hard anodized silver or black.  The finish was top shelf with no visible scratches or imperfections observed.  The lower intake grill is actually cut into the front bezel, which by the way is constructed of aluminum and not an ABS plastic cover.  Below this grill are two USB 2.0 ports behind a small flap.  Sorry, no external Firewire port here.  Personally I don't see this an issue as I don't have or use any Firewire devices.  But this of course changes depending on your needs.
