Manufacturer:
Lian Li
Industrial Company By Brian Tiller (9/23/2002)
Introduction Lian-Li has been making computer cases for quite some time now and have quite a reputation, especially among PC enthusiasts, for making quality products. This time they have combined quality with quantity. The PC-7323 is to computer cases like an aircraft carrier is to a sailboat. This thing is BIG! And as you can see, our newest staffer was more than anxious to get his hands on this baby! While Dean has always been a fan of the mid-tower cases, I like the full towers. Mainly, because there is more room to work with inside the case. So, when the people at Lian-Li contacted us to review their new line of server cases, I jumped at the chance. Little did I know that I would have to build an addition onto my house to put it in. Take a look at the specs below and you'll get some idea of just how big we're talking about. Specifications….
Just the exterior view alone is enough to let you know that this is indeed a true server case. You can see the difference in size when we set it side by side with Dean's Penthouse Labs server, a Global Win YCC-61F1. Apart from it's sheer size it has a locking door on the front to keep out all those undesirables (you know, like the boss or the kids). Lian-Li has definitely thought about the aesthetics of the case when they designed it. The door gives it an extremely streamlined look. Not to mention the top and bottom trim done in a carbon fiber type of look really finishes of the look of the case. On the front of the door, there are a couple of features which stand out. The first is the smooth fan grill enclosure at the bottom of the door. Since this case is designed to operate with the door closed most of the time, Lian-Li had to ensure good airflow through the door, and that they have done well. Another nice feature on the door are the two LEDs. The power and HDD LED are actually behind the door, ports on the door make them visible when the door is closed. The back of the case is pretty much standard with the two 80mm exhaust fans at the bottom and the power supply plate up top. The power supply plate is removable making it possible to put the PSU at the very top of the case. There is also extra space for two more 80mm fans to be mounted just above or below, the PSU.
