Lian Li PC-A10 Aluminum Case We showed you the top mounted 120mm blow hole when we were touring outside the case. Here we have it again from another perspective. Notice the black screen finger guard. Four thumb screws hold the slide out mainboard tray in place. This guarantees optimal work room should you need it. What we didn't find unfortunately was the detachable front panel wire harness we've seen often enough in other Lian Li cases. This is far from a con as I don't know of another case maker that does that at all. The power supply area is plenty big for even the most robust of power supplies. 240mm deep and 170mm tall defines roomy. The width of the compartment is 205mm but the support tray at the bottom is constructed to mount power supplies on their sides, giving it a functional width of 180mm. The drive area holds two removable drive cages. Each is slot fitted and locks in place with a single spring loaded thumb screw. The smaller of the two cages holds two 3.5" drives with the mounting points having rubber grommets present for noise dampening. The second cage hold three 3.5" drives and has areas for noise dampening grommets as well (these additional unseen grommets are included in the hardware accessory pack included with the case) to be installed if desired. My first thought was "only five HDD spots?" But the more I considered this, the more I realized this is not a big deal. Running five hard drives or less accurately satisfies 99.99% of the planet's users. The front intake fan is accessed from the front of the hard drive area by taking loose two spring loaded thumb screws after the drive cages have been removed. Notice that not only are the fan's mounting points rubber but so are the places where the fan bracket attaches to the chassis. |
