We have been fortunate over the years to have looked at a good number of Lian Li cases for review.  In that time, it has been interesting to watch how a new feature or features will appear on one case, then as its usefulness becomes fully apparent, be used on many of Lian Li's other chassis products.  Aside from this, Lian Li continues to release a good number of interesting and unique case designs.  The most notable of these is of course, the PC-777 Anniversary case with its snail like shape.  It seems as though that Lian Li has decided to get back to basics of late.  To this end, we have their new Lian Li PC-G70 Server Case on the bench.  Incorporating all the features we have seen developed recently with the PC-V line into a more traditionally shaped aluminum server tower case, Lian Li's newest chassis is one that will attract a lot of attention.  We want to extend our thanks to the JCL Company Ltd and Silver PCs, a regional supplier of Lian Li products, for sponsoring this review today.

The Case

The Lian Li PC-G70 Case is a server tower in the truest sense of the word.  Measuring a full 572mm tall without the case feet and 604mm with them, the PC-G70 is a server that doesn't lack for stance.  Something interesting is that despite its full tower size, the Lian Li PC-G70 only tips the scales at 7.9kg making it the lightest full tower case we have ever reviewed here in the Penthouse Labs.  Offered in either silver or a black anodize, Lian Li gets back to basics while continuing to offer weight savings and aesthetic appeal.

From a front on view, the bezel shows us six 5.25" and two 3.5" external bays.  To the right of the 3.5" bays are the power and reset buttons as well as the power and HDD activity lamps.
