Lian Li PC-V880 HTPC Case

The left side of the PC-V880’s face has its power/reset buttons as well as access ports. From left to right; mic, speaker, USB 2.0 x 2 and Firewire. Above these are the power, reset, power indicator and HDD activity lamp.

The first pic below shows off one of the things that gives Lian Li the wonderful reputation for tooling metal they enjoy. Check out the ultra smooth curve of the corners. Very smooth and very classy. Shifting our gaze to the two sides of the PC-V880, we see more grill work on the upper and lower sections of each side. While I love lots of ventilation it does create problems with dust and sound suppression.

Moving to the rear, we find two 60mm exhaust fan areas in side by side format. The PC-V880 includes one low speed 60mm fan with the case. You may notice that there is no traditionally placed power supply area. You have the plug but no PSU. The PSU is front mounted with an extension line to allow it to be plugged in traditionally.

The rear corners show the same workmanship as up front except that these are perforated. In the right pic below you can see that access to the PC-V880 is made from the top. A lone spring loaded thumbscrew allows the locking bar to be retracted and the top removed. Let's have a quick look above and below before we dig inside though.

Underneath are your standard four feet and surprisingly a vent. The vent is for the PSU intake fan, provided your power supply has a lower mounted cooling fan. This keeps fresh air coming into the PSU at all times.
