Logisys Special Edition Dracula Case

Upon opening the box we found the case with the handle uninstalled.  Installation was a matter of two Phillips head screws per side into a threaded steel plate under the top front and rear of the Dracula.

Unfortunately, the Special Edition Dracula got off to a bad start here.  On one side of the handle was a circular hole with a round piece of Plexiglas and a silver ring forming a clickable button.  The Plexiglas lens and ring were not secured in the handle (we found them loose in the box.)  This problem was easily rectified with some rubber cement.  The confusing thing was that this made for a really trendy button but... it wasn't attached nor could it be easily attached to anything to make it functional.  The instruction sheet included with the Dracula only addressed the installation of the handle so we can only guess as to what the button is for or about.

With the handle installed we get our first complete look at the Dracula Special Edition case.  The blue with chrome colored molding brings out the face and wings much more than the monotone colors of the standard Dracula Case.  On the bezel door we find a silver oval with an imprinted gothic looking sword.  The sword's blade, lights blue as your power on indicator with the small circle in the hilt flashing red as your hard drive activity lamp.

The lower half of the front bezel is shaped into a face of sorts.  Two slits represent eyes and are illuminated by a red LED when under power.  Between these we see a power button, a triangular shaped reset button and a grill looking like teeth covering the front access ports.  This grill slides upwards to expose two USB 2.0 ports, a mic in and a speaker out jack.  You can see a Firewire blank here but no port.

Opening up the bezel door we find more of the chrome colored accents.  For some, the mirror like quality of the chrome coloring will be a big draw; to others its reflectiveness will be a turnoff.  Either way, the four 5.25" and two 3.5" exposed drive bays are closed off with blue covers.  This makes for a nice contrast.
