NZXT Hush Case

No blowholes or venting is on either side panel but around back we find another 120mm fan.  120mm fans have long been known for moving large amounts of air at low RPMs aka low sound levels.  Looking closely at the stamped grilling you can see that NZXT has drilled holes so the end user can use the included 120mm fan or swap in a 90 or even an 80mm fan if they so choose.

The right side panel is devoid of vents and fans as was the left but towards the front bezel are the NZXT Hush's access ports.  We find two USB 2.0 ports, mic in, speaker out as well as a Firewire port.

Paul Simon be proud

Paul Simon would be proud at the sounds of silence the foam mats we find on cracking open the case seem to promise.

The foam is 2mm thick and is on both side panels, the roof, floor and even part of the back side of the front bezel's expansion slots.  Very nice.

The seven expansion slots are the tool free type that can be easily replaced if you want to swap in or out a card on a whim.  Two other features here that you can't see below are NZXT's listed feature of rubber dampeners at the mounting points for the fans and power supply.  We have seen these sound dampeners elsewhere and they rock.  Now the reason you can't see them on the fan is because they are covered up (but they're there.)  The reason you can't see them for the power supply area is because they are not.  We received two NZXT Hush review units and neither had the power supply rubber mounts as is advertised on the box.  Sure this is a 50 cent feature but when I see a feature listed on a package I expect to find it on the product inside.  Ding number one.
