NZXT Panzerbox Case

Moving our gaze to the Panzerbox's roof we see that it too is constructed almost entirely of the same black mesh screen.  It also has a top mounted 190mm fan identical to the front intake.  The mesh screen bezel and roof alone would give us good airflow, add in TWO 190mm fans that each move 150 cubic fee of air per minute and you have something special.  Also on the roof we find access ports that include two USB 2.0 ports, speaker and mic jack as well as an external SATA port.

No windows on the all business NZXT Panzerbox.  We do have a small 180 x 120mm screen that allows fresh air into the power supply which is bottom mounted in the Panzerbox.

You don't appreciate how an extra 40mm or so of width adds to the case's look until you are peeking at the rear.  Out back we find two one inch diameter hose ports to utilize an externally mounted water cooling set up if the end user so chose.  Below these is a single 120mm fan whose speed and air flow rates weren't listed on the NZXT website.  We did see that it was turning at 900 RPM once we installed a system.  We don't have CFM or dBA data for you but airflow was gentle and sound level silent.

Check out these fat thumbscrews on the panels and motherboard tray.  One other quick item of note is if you look carefully at the expansion slot covers, you'll notice that they are not solid.  They are screened as the roof and bezel are.  Also notice that the power supply is mounted immediately beside the card area.  I've never worked with a set up like this before and I'm anxious to see how it does.

Right side panel has a matching 180 x 120mm screen vent to the one we saw on the left side panel.

Small in stature but secure in footing.  Four 50 x 22mm rubber feet give the Panzerbox some very solid footing.  This isn't a gripe but rather a preference.  Rubber case feet like this give infinitely better grip than do plastic ones.  For my part I am always sliding things around a bit on my desk and sometime actually prefer the less grippy plastic feet.  Again, this is clearly a preference issue.
