I'm sure some of you have some homemade "bare bones" systems out there.  This was just too cool not to show off a bit.  Below is the Senfu Tech Station (aka Senfu DIY House.)

The kit comes unassembled.  Which is no big deal really since it is made up of pretty easy to figure out components.  These consist of four 12 inch shafts, four 5.25 inch shafts, four 6.25 inch shafts, the elbows that hold it together, and a pack of plug ins (i.e. power LED indicator, power switch, hard drive LED indicator, reset switch, speaker to be directly plugged in without electrical wiring.)  Also included are two 12 x 5.25 inch pieces of Plexiglas, a foam mat to lay your mainboard on, as well was a dust cover.

The unit is put together with square aluminum pipes that attach to one another with solid metal elbows by twisting the shafts until they are snug on the elbows.  Once it is all put together it was sturdy and solid.  I put a Senfu temperature probe / display in and an 80mm fan on a bracket to keep some air moving across the works and to monitor my CPU temp.  Check out the plug in switches in the second pic below..

I had made a similar type of thing to the Senfu Tech Station here in the Penthouse Labs a few months back but the wiring came from my cannibalizing an old case.  The pack of plug ins included with the Senfu are MUCH more desirable than stuff you ripped out of an old box.

This isn't exactly a review, it is more of a "check this out and make it at home" sort of thing.  In a word, nifty!  Pricey but nifty.  My father got this one from High Speed PC is you want one and don't want to make it.
