Introduction
Many of us are accustomed to seeing Skyhawk's value line of aluminum cases. Today we look at their midrange, feature-rich aluminum mid-tower. The PSR5605 (Matrix) series comes with a variety of options. The specific model on our bench is the PSR5606W-BL. Specifications
The case came with a more than ample bag of hardware, 2 PCI slot covers, I/O shield, and wiring diagram. Like other Skyhawk cases I've dealt with, this thing is about as light as they come. The blue front gives it a unique look. The front LCD display and side window are positive factors on the geek scale. A definite plus is the fact that the exterior aluminum is treated to resist scrapes and smudges. Now we get to the part that worried me. I've dealt with some motorized doors on cases before and hated them. What I'm about to tell you is top secret as it will cause me pain and embarrassment. Anyone found laughing at the following information will be shot on sight. I'm staring at the front door trying to figure out how to open it. Being your typical male I didn't go find instructions. I keep pushing up on the door figuring if I'm gentle it will be OK. It won't budge. So, I give in and put the mobo and PSU in the case. I push the button to raise the door and, um, the door slides ... down! I quickly turn to see if my cat is laughing at me. Thankfully, she is sleeping although I swear there was a smirk on her face. To save you my pain and embarrassment, you can download the manual here. Enough guys, you can stop laughing anytime now...
