Sunbeam Quarterback Chassis

A Closer Look

As I stated before, the front of the case seems rather simplistic.  The front bezel is barely even a bezel.  The silver portion folds back revealing the same black grated plastic front bay's that I mentioned before.  The simplicity of that design pretty much stands on its own.

One noteworthy aspect here is the power and reset switch.  They're located in a pretty normal position, but they seem to be highlighted by an LED.  This could provide an interesting contrast to the front of the case when powered on.

The right hand side of the Quarterback is just a standard black side panel with the exception of the front USB, Headphones, Microphone, and Firewire ports.

The left hand side of the case -- though as unassuming as the rest of the exterior -- provides the acrylic side-panel for us to get a glimpse into the heart of the case.  Although we'll get into more depth in a moment, you can see the provided 120mm fan placed here for added airflow over the hottest components in the system.  I also do like the plain look of the square side-window here.  It fits with the traditional feel of the Quarterback.

Taking a look at the rear, we see everything that any typical case could ever need.  There's a spot for your standard PSU.  Directly below that is an equipped 120mm exhaust fan.  And the below the fan are the conventional seven PCI Expansion slots.  So although there aren't any surprises here, there isn't anything missing either.

In order to break into the Quarterback, there's the customary (but always appreciated) thumb screws.  Removing these allows you to easily slide the side panel off for access to the interior.  Let's have a look around.
