Sunbeam Silent Storm Manufacturer: Sunbeam Technology by Brian Tiller (3/7/2006)
Introduction Unless you've been living under a rock for the past several years, then you know that Sunbeam has been a big name in the world of computer accessories. They produce everything from thumb screws to fan controllers and cases. Their lineup of computer cases is quite extensive but also quite inexpensive. Most, if not all, of their cases come at a price point well below $100. One of their newest cases has found it's way to my workshop and today I'll give you a look at the Sunbeam Silent Storm. Let's give a round of thanks to Sunbeam Technology for their sponsorship of this review. From the name of the case it's pretty obvious that Sunbeam has designed this case to be quiet, but what else does it have to offer? Specifications:
The front of the case offers a somewhat simple yet pleasing look. The case comes in two different color schemes, Black and Silver/Black. As you can see, our sample is the silver/black combo. The silver on the front of the case is very appealing. While design may give the appearance of having four buttons on the front door, there are only the power and reset buttons. The other two are the power and HDD activity LEDs. It's nice not having to open the door to turn the system on. Speaking of which, let's take a quick peek. The door is held closed with magnets instead of any kind of latch. As you can see, there are the four 5.25" and two 3.5" external bay covers. At the bottom, there is plenty of ventilation for airflow. |
