ThermalRock Dragon Aluminum Case

Looking on top of the Dragon, we find a familiar shape.  Many of you will recognize this as the blowhole cover and access port area seen on many Tt Xaser boxes.  Depressing a small flap allows the front section to fold up revealing two USB 2.0 ports, a Firewire as well as a speaker and mic jack.

Popping the hood

Removing the left side panel exposes a swing out fan door of sorts.  Two 90mm filtered fans set in an intake position provide good circulation over any cards and the CPU.  The door swings out giving you access to your components.  If you don't like the door, a small catch may be depressed allowing you to remove it entirely.

Inside the rear wall is an 80mm exhaust.  One thing I neglected to mention thus far, is that all the fans are powered off of 4-pin Molex connectors so they won't be fully compatible with many fan controllers on the market.  Moving on, take a look at the card clips.  These are tool free mounts that gave us solid card mounting without the hassles of screws.

Top mounting blow hole and fan anyone?

The drive bays are a 5/2/3 setup as we previously mentioned.  The optical and FDD bays are straight forward with the exception of some very hip little tool free drive rails.  The rails are stored in two trays in the HDD rack.  The rails snap onto whatever drive you have for true tool free installation.  Something else I like here is the white plastic wire stay you can see mounted on the hard drive rack.  A 'tidy case is a happy case.'
