Thermaltake
LANFIRE (VM2000A) The LANFIRE shares its looks with its big brother you saw above with only a few exceptions. One item that is present in both cases is the four channel fan controller. Two thin tip probes allow the fan controller to monitor and display two temperature readings. In addition to the standard real time display, minimum and maximum temperatures may be recorded as well as an alarm should a predefined threshold temperature be reached. The bezel door that conceals the drive bays is made out of ABS plastic rather than aluminum as is the case with the Xaser line. The Xaser logo is emblazoned on the door which also has your power and hard drive activity lamps. A key lock is also present to keep prying fingers out. Opening the front door exposes three 5.25" and two 3.5" drive bays. The top most 5.25" bay obviously is taken up by the fan controller. The remaining bays are pretty hip from the standpoint that they may be removed with ease without taking the side panels loose. Just below the drive bay door is another small door. This one conceals two USB ports and one Firewire port. The small door has nice lines and doesn't disrupt the appearance of the LANFIRE's face. |
