Mozart Tx Case (VE1000) Before we open up the Mozart Tx, I did feel the need to take a quick shot of the top. While there is nothing special about it in a traditional sense, it does measure 14 inches by 13 inches. That is large and sturdy enough for a stack of books or even a monitor if you so choose. We mentioned earlier that the side panels swing open like doors. They also have two thumb screws to keep them locked down but the factory latches do a perfectly fine job of keeping them secure alone. The swing motion was smooth and easy. Behind door number one The left side panel gives access to the lower section that is designated for the primary system and any hard drives you install. The mainboard tray is not removable but you have plenty of work room in spite of this. Let's have a closer look. The included 120mm fan in this section is of the standard variety that sits above the tool free expansion card holders. These card holders work on a pivot principle so that they pivot out to allow a card to be installed then clipped back in place to hold it secure. These worked well but did not have the tight fit you get with a standard screw. Looking at the mainboard, you will see that the mainboard standoffs look odd. This is because they are longer than normal standoffs. The 'lips' in the middle of the tray are part of the BTX upgrade (optional kit). These longer standoffs are necessary to keep an installed mainboard from contact on the tray. The Mozart Tx can accept ATX, Micro ATX, Standard ATX, Micro ATX, Pico and Nano BTX sized mainboard. |
