Thermaltake Armor VA8000 Armor Case First Impressions The Thermaltake Armor is a full tower case, but it's not only the size that will command a persons attention. The front bezel is entirely unique in case design. On each side of the front bezel are two flaps, or wings for want of a better term, that partially cover the drive bays. These flaps are on hinges which can fold out of the way for access to the bays, but when folded in, give the impression of protecting the front of the case. Thermaltake has put considerable thought not only into the looks of the case, but also the thermal properties and air flow of it. The front bay covers are all perforated to allow air to flow through freely. Don't be too concerned with dust either, as each one of the bay covers is fitted with it's own filter to keep those nasty dust bunnies to an absolute minimum. The top most bay cover also has the power/reset buttons set beside the HDD and power LED's. This particular bay cover is integrated into the bay itself and is designed to accept the mounting of a 3.5" FDD or rheobus. It can also be completely removed and mounted in one of the lower drive bays instead of the top most one. The bottom drive bay is also a nifty feature that Thermaltake has incorporated into this case. Instead of just covering it up, they included a small drawer for you to store things in. This is a perfect option for a frequent LAN goer. You can drop your favorite game CDs in here and not worry about forgetting them. |
