Thermaltake Xaser V: Damier Series Case Manufacturer: Thermaltake
Technology by Brian Tiller (1/24/2004)
Introduction Thermaltake has been making aftermarket PC equipment for longer than I can remember. From their frosty coolers to their towering cases, the one thing that all their products have in common has been quality. We've reviewed pretty much their full line of cases here at the 'Cafe and today we've got an opportunity to crawl inside the newest case in the Xaser line, the Xaser V: Damier Series. And not only is this a first look at this case for us, but it's also a first go around with a Thermaltake case for yours truly. The first thing that struck me about this case was the front and the look it conveyed to me. The checkerboard design on the classic Xaser series front 'X' reminded me of an old 50's style diner. Guess what? Not only did they include the case in the box (always a good thing:), but inside was what they call their VIP package. This included a great set of instructions, mouse pad, a sheet of stickers and a CD containing wall paper and screen savers. While I doubt that I will personally use the stickers, the mouse pad is very nice. It's not just cheesy .99 cent jobber, but a really nice optical pad. Talk about feature rich, and we haven't even reviewed the specifications for this case yet. Specifications:
As you can tell, we've got a lot of things to go over here and there's no better place to start than the front of the case. |
