Thermaltake Xaser III (model V1000A) The front bezel has the Thermaltake brand name across the lower front of the box. This is backlit by neon which we will see some more of later. The latest incarnation of the Hardcano sits in the upper most bay. The Hardcano functions as a four channel BayBus with a LCD display in the middle. The display allows you to monitor temperatures in two areas. An alarm is also on board and programmable to let you know if you exceed a preset (by you) trip temperature. A record setting allows you to mark highest and lowest temperatures measured. I’m not exactly sure what benefit this is but its there if you have a need for it. Personally, I record temperatures from low to high on a mental scale ranging from Rock on! to Oh Crap! Below the Hardcano is a standard Chieftec style door that obscures any drives from sight or prying little fingers (for those of you with kids.) The door is equipped with a key lock of the regular slot type key variety. Access to intake fans and filters is something we all desire in a high end case. The Xaser III gives us that and a bit more. The entire front bezel is mounted onto hinges which allow the full face to swing out as a second door behind the drive bay door. Two 80mm intake fans help keep the air inside the case flowing clean and cool. Each fan has an outer bracket that is easily removed allowing access to a reusable filter. Add a can of compressed air and you can clean your filters in less than a minute from initial access to closing the door and saying "done!"
