Ultra m998 Case

Removal of the bezel is accomplished by taking loose both side covers via thumb screws and depressing three plastic tabs per side.  The bezel is then easily removed showing us some nice detail work.  The first thing here is the front access port plate.  Look closely in the second shot below.  Notice how it is shaped and attaches just like any other expansion slot bracket.  If you don't need or want what Ultra has provided with their bracket, you can replace it with say that extra USB bracket you got with your mainboard.  Very forward thinking for the masses.

The front 120mm fan is a filtered number as you can see.  The filter is easily removable for the occasional cleaning.  Access to the filter took less than a minute.

Turning the Ultra m998 to the side we see the tastefully installed window over a highly reflective mainboard tray.

When I say highly reflective mainboard tray, I'm not kidding.  Mounted in the Plexiglas of the window are two vents.  A round vent with an Ultra logo finger guard measuring approximately 80mm round sits over the lower rectangular shaped 120 x 80mm vent.  No filters here unfortunately.  This would be your DSA, as in Dust Suction Area?

Around back is more high polish aluminum bling for you.  We see the large 120mm exhaust fan as well as some extra venting to the right of the expansion slot covers.  The two thumb screws you see above the PSU area actually lock the top cover to the Ultra m998 down.  Removal of these two screws allows the roof of the case to be slipped off for access to the power supply area.  The third shot below is the PSU mounting bracket normally seen with Lian Li cases.

We're going to move along here and open this case up as the right side panel offers us nothing outside of a black rectangular view.

Something I didn't note yet is the absolute abundance of thumb screws found in the Ultra m998.  Each side panel is held in place by two allowing access to the case's interior with their removal.  The left windowed side panel's 80mm CPU vent has an adjustable plastic cone attached.  Pulling the cone up allows the end user to adjust the height of the intake funnel to their particular need.

The bottom edge of both side panels is flared as you can see below.  This makes installing a side panel remarkably easy.  By far the best side panel mounting guide you can have.
