Ultra m998 Case Here's an inside view of the Ultra m998's rear wall. On the rear of the case I'm sure you noticed the extra thumb screws holding the removable motherboard tray in place. The tray slides out clean and smooth thanks to a small channel of sorts for it to glide in and out of. Check it. Now here's something you just do see elsewhere, Ultra's Power Bar. The Power Bar is just what it sounds like; a collection of Molex and PCI-E power connectors that help ease cable clutter. The connectors on the right side of the power bar are inputs from the PSU with power being accessible on the corresponding left side plugs. Ultra saw fit to include a number of short flexible power cables to take full advantage of this truly unique feature. Shifting our focus to the Ultra m998's drive racks we find two removable racks mounted below the 5.25" bays. Before we go pulling the racks out take a moment and look at all the extra space you get because of the width of this case. If you are a cable tie neat freak like me you will love all space behind (to the left in these pics) the hard drive rack. A small plastic pull tab locks and unlocks each of the drive racks in place for easy removal. Each rack also has screw mounts so you can lock them in place if you feel the need. Going without the extra screws, I felt the racks were firmly and securely in place with no risk of coming out unwanted. Last up are the accessory boxes. One of the two boxes had four nice black plastic caster wheels in it. The Ultra m998 is just large enough that replacing the rubber feet with caster wheels makes life much easier. Ever try sliding a fully loaded large case across a rug? I can tell you from long long experience that the casters are a huge plus to this case. The second box had all the requisite case hardware in addition to an eSATA cable and a number of the short flexible power cables for use with the power bar we mentioned earlier.
