Yeong Yang Cetus Case Since we're already talking about tool free installation, let's move to the front of the case and the drive bays. You'll notice the purple casing screwed into the HDD bays. Now personally I thought this was a nice touch. It's a small storage area which Yeong Yang placed all the necessary hardware for the case. With the storage box in place, you can still install two HDD's, or you can remove it for the installation of up to five 3.5" drives here. The hardware included an assortment of screws, keys, drive rails, mobo standoffs, I/O bracket, a couple of so-so installation manuals, and several plastic ties to keep those pesky cables from getting out of hand. The drive rails come in two different flavors, four sets for the 5.25" drives and five sets for the 3.5" drives. The rails on the left are for the 5.25" drives, while on the right we have the 3.5" rails. The installation of these was very easy, though different for each drive. The 5.25" drive rails have two small hooks which are placed in the screw holes of your 5.25" drives. Then it's just a matter of sliding the drive into place until the drive rails clip in. The drive rails for your 3.5" drives use a push pin to keep them in place. Just line the holes up on the drive and the rails, insert the pin and your good to go. While not as simple as the installation for your 5.25" drives, it is easy nonetheless. However, I will admit to being slightly baffled as to why the pins had a Phillips head on them since there are no screw threads. Our last few shots concern the motherboard headers and front access port wires. As you can see, everything is well labeled and easy to identify. I was happy to see that the USB connections are blocked even thought the FireWire and audio are not. Maybe someday a standard will come out for motherboard and case manufacturers so that all leads will be blocked and easier to connect. |
