A-Top Technology Z-Alien Gaming Case The bottom half of the front bezel has several slits or 'gills.' The top most one has at its center, a small LCD screen roughly 35 x 15 mm in size. We'll get to this function when we power the unit up. The front bezel itself snaps into place via six plastic pegs. It is removed simply by pulling up at the base. Behind the bezel, we find a slide out style fan filter. The plastic filter mount is held in place by three clips that conceal the fan holder. Removing a lone screw on the outer side of this holder allows it to be removed for fan maintenance/access. If you look closely at the pic below, you will notice that it can take either an 80 or a 120mm fan. Moving over to the left side panel we see some more theme work. An oval window shaped like an alien head with two eyes made from wire grills watch your every move. The panel locked in place by a unique method. Two slides in an over and under set up, lock the side panel in place. No screws needed. On the rear of the Z-Alien, everything looks pretty standard except for one very large exhaust blowhole. A 120mm fan serves to move hot air out of the case at a high rate and low sound volume. I have always liked 120mm fans for just this reason. Hats off to A-Top for this decision. A-Top cites their cases as having a "car paint like finish." One look at the right side of the Z-Alien shows this isn't just talk. This is one super clean paint job. At the lower left corner of the side panel, resides an 80mm grate. Removing the side panel exposes another 80mm filtered case fan. Again, the filter is easy to access and clean. The Z-Alien has USB ports on the front and the top of the case. The top mounted ports are kept company by a IEEE 1394 port as well as a mic in and speaker out jack.
