Akasa AK268 / AK268-2 Heatsink

And the results…

And for all you metric people…

Conclusion

Akasa has shown itself a serious player on the field of high quality performance heatsinks with the Silver Mountain.  The AK268 / AK268-2 show this point to be indisputable.  The AK268/AK268-2 also illustrates how much a high output fan can make a difference.  While the addition of the Delta fan to the Akasa really makes its thermal performance stand out, it should not be missed that 35 dBA fan on the AK268 was not a shrieking banshee but was very tolerable in the noise department.  The Vantec CCK also sports a Delta 7k blower and for the CCK to only best the smaller fan on the AK268 by two degrees Celsius, it really pays homage to Akasa’s sink design.  If you are looking for a high output cooler that is easy on the ears, the Akasa AK268 is on the shortest of lists.  Thanks again go to Adrian over at Lapicon folks for sending this product over.

  • Tolerable sound level while keeping acceptable thermal performance with 20mm fan.
