Cooler Master Hyper N520 CPU Cooler

Each fan is powered by a 3-pin connector.  These connectors are plugged into a two into one power line so you are only using on fan header on your board.

Flipping things over we get a nice look at the craftsmanship that went into the Hyper N520.  The fit and finish really stands out here.  The copper heatpipes connect the base and fin assembly.

The base plate itself is copper with the heatpipes sandwiched between it and the upper half made from aluminum.

Cooler Master gets an A+ on the lap job they have done here.  Anytime you get a base you can read by, it should tell you about attention to detail at the manufacturing level.  A picture is worth a thousand words.

Installation

The included installation guide I have to say was or would be of little help to a novice.  It's installation schematic left much to be desired.  However, the addition of retention arms to the base and subsequent mounting to the motherboard will be quite intuitive for most.  Yes, the motherboard has to be removed to make use of the Cooler Master Hyper N520.  While this isn't exactly a pleasant thing, we're not going to gig the Hyper N520 too much on this easier.  Removal of the motherboard for cooler installation these days is typical for most all performance oriented aftermarket coolers.
