Introduction
Thermal Integration Technology is one of the end products of the old Thermosonic
Company of ThermoEngine fame. Since then, they have continued to bring quality
performance heatsinks to market that I think have been under appreciated. What Thermal
Integration (otherwise known as Dr. Thermal) did, was shift their fan
focus from the traditional 60mm blowers to higher performing 70mm fans. By
increasing the fan size, the RPMs required to give a specified amount of air
flow are decreased. With the decreased revolutions comes a decreased sound level
while maintaining a certain CFM level which is very desirable.
Today we have an opportunity to take a look at the TI-T707TN heatsink from
Thermal Integration. The TI-T707TN is a P4 cooling solution based around the 70mm fan
theory but a variable rate 70mm fan. It also separates from other Dr. Thermal
sinks in its utilization of an oval shape fin block. Let’s take a closer look.

The cooler's fan is screwed into an aluminum bracket that is held
down onto the cooling fins with the two retention clips. In removing this top
assembly we can better see how the Dr. Thermal has taken a different design path
than is normally seen.
