Introduction

Up here in the Northern Hemisphere, summer is fast approaching which means it's time to really start thinking about keeping things cool. Over the past year, CPU speeds have increased quite a bit, and with the speed has come the heat. Especially where the new P4 Prescotts are concerned heat is most definitely a factor. To that end, we'll be checking out a couple of new P4 offerings from Thermal Integration, the fine folks who make the Dr. Thermal line of heatsinks, model numbers TI-A8736N and TI-RV108N.

T.I.T.I. is not a new company to the cooling business. Founded in 2001, they are based in mainland China with overseas offices in the US, Germany and Japan. They manufacture cooling solutions for the P4 and AMD desktop computers, notebooks, servers and VGA coolers as well.

From the specifications list, these two heatsinks sound pretty similar, however nothing could be further from the truth. Though both are designed for the high end P4 applications, they are designed completely differently. So let's take a look at them, one at a time.
