Enzotech Ultra-X Cooler

The top of the base has convection rods mounted on top to assist with some residual heat.  But the impressive array is the fin assembly.  Looking at it from underneath you get a good idea of the incredible amount of surface area the Ultra-X offers. 

Here is a shot of the heatpipes where they mate with the contact pad.  No overt gaps and manufacturing imperfections here.  Clean contact around each heatpipe.  The second picture below shows a close up of the convection rods mounted to the top of the base.

Enzotech has also done a wonderful job on the Ultra-X's base.  Excellent lap job resulting in a true shaver.

Installation

Enzotech's Ultra-X is a large cooler and as such, like all other oversized coolers, requires motherboard removal for installation.  The motherboard in our test bed is an ASUS Maximus Formula which has some oversized copper coolers onboard which should be a nice test for compatibility.  Installing the Intel LGA775 pin plate from the underside of the board starts things out.
