Introduction:

Fortis Technology sort of came out of no where.  Either that or I was asleep at the wheel again.  "Designed by Overclockers" is their company motto.  Copper base, thin fins, 7k high flow fan, they have definitely put the ingredients in that I would.  Today we are going to look at two coolers made by Fortis; the A102 and the A92.  As you can see in the pic above the A92 and A102 are like Dr. Evil and Minnie Me.  The A92 sink is roughly 50% the height of it's big brother.  Pretty simple way to make an economical version of the big brother.  Before we get too much into things, I'd like to thank the crew over at Fortis Technology for sending these coolers over for testing.

Now the packaging is top notch.  Trendy see through boxes; now you don't see that everyday.  Upon opening the package of these products we saw that they came with an "owners manual."  The owners manual is basically a how to on installing your heatsink and some pimpage for other products they manufacture (monitors for one.)  Not only was the box cool, it also had cool stuff in it with the heatsink ("owners manual" not withstanding.)  A small tube of silver thermal compound and a four pin Molex to 3 pin connector.  Silver Compound?!?  This is something I like, a company that really puts attention to what goes in the box.  Kudos guys on that call!

Let's look at the A102 model first.  There are a total of 27 fins if you include the sides.  Each fin measuring 62x58mm.  Lots of surface area down there.

The clip is a pretty much standard jobber except that the head of the latch is a tad oversized.  This is quite nice when it comes to installing and removing it.  There is also a slot for a spaded screwdriver to push and pry with, should you need it.  (We didn't.)
