Introduction

Time and time again, Thermaltake has proven itself worthy and at the top of its game in the CPU cooling industry.  As CPU power increases, so too does the amount of power required to run them, and thus the amount of heat generated by them.  There are many competing products in the CPU Cooling industry.  Some are worth their weight in gold, while others fall short.  Today we get a look at one of Thermaltake's air cooling offerings: The Blue Orb II.  We're going to get into all the specs of the Blue Orb II and see just how well it performs as compared to some other coolers in the market.  Let's start off with the specs.

What you get

The Thermaltake Blue Orb II comes packaged in a very simple plastic packaging.  It's not one of those annoying packages that you need blades and blow torches to get open; just two simple little pop buttons holding it closed.

Included with the Blue Orb II heat sink is a back plate for AMD K8 boards, mounting brackets for Intel LGA 775, hardware and a package of generic thermal paste.  Also included was a single page (front side only) instruction packet.  This packaging included the bare minimum, but it's still everything you should need.
