Thermaltake Blue Orb II

Conclusion

Thermaltake has another successful product on their hands with the Blue Orb II.  The blue color of the cooling fins with the blue LED in the fan makes for a spectacular sight.  The cooling efficiency of the Blue Orb II is amazing as well, running on average of 11 degrees Celsius cooler than the Stock Intel cooler.  To top it all off, there is very little noise produced by the fan while it's running.

I'm having a very difficult time coming up with any bad points for this cooler.  Installation was an absolute breeze, although I did have to remove the motherboard to remove the original backplate, and secure the mounting brackets.  However, I feel that's a small price to pay.  Like I said, even the packaging impressed me.

Pros

  • Excellent cooling

  • Fits Intel Socket LGA775 and AMD K8

  • Very easy installation

  • Efficient Cooling Design

  • Blue color of Heatsink and blue LED looks awesome

  • Very little noise from fan

  • Beautifully polished copper base

Cons

  • Motherboard must be removed to install
