3A Cooler's Z-Bra Heatsink The next few pics that we have for you show that 3a Cooler uses a three prong clip for the socket attachment which promotes better stability than a single clip. A shot of the base shows that while it's not the best lap job we've seen here it is still pretty good and more than sufficient for the task. And last we'll show you what it looks like with a fan mounted on it. The design of the fan mount actually gives the heatsink a somewhat stylish look as the fan and mount blend in pretty well. Testing Using our test system we'll run the Z-Bra through SiSoft Sandra 2003 Pro's Burn-In Wizard for 30 minutes and record the temperature with a thermal probe mounted to the CPU with the tip touching the core. As a comparison we've decided to use the Thermalright SLK-700 that we recently reviewed. Each sink will have a Delta 60mm fan attached. If you'll recall the SLK-700 is definitely no slouch when it comes to cooling with that Delta fan on it. Test System
Results The ambient room temperature was 20.5 degrees Celsius (+/- .5 degrees). Each sink was run through the ringer three times with the scores being averaged for the final results.
Wow......I think the graph more than speaks for itself. While the SLK-700 weighs in at 130g more than the Z-Bra the hybrid design more than makes up for the lack of mass. Conclusion The guys at 3a Cooler have done a great job with their first product. The Z-Bra just proved that sheer copper mass isn't everything. From it's unique design to it's performance the Z-Bra from 3a Cooler gets two thumbs up from me. I look forward to more products from 3a Cooler. Pros:
