OCZ PC2-6400 Titanium EPP-Ready Memory Kit (2GB) By running the factory timings at what they are on this pretty tightly timed stuff we will be limited in how high we can reach. Bumping up the speed step by step while keeping the 4-4-4-15 1T settings gave us some headroom but not much. We reached a max speed of DDR2 832. 832MHz on DDR2 800 isn't bad especially considering our command rate is still 1T. It does however leave a bit of room from exploration. Dropping the timings to a far looser 5-5-5-15 at a standard 2T command rate we kept on the juice and didn't hit the wall until a jaw dropping 1116MHz. Conclusion Sure there is PC2-9000 (aka DDR2 1120) on the market now but to have some DDR2 800, that's PC2-6400, running at PC2-9000 speeds is simply amazing. Not only at the same speeds but at the same timings!! This in addition to some excellent performance seen at its spec level. OCZ's EPP Ready memory shouldn't be thought of in terms of being designed for NVidia 590 SLI boards and is still able to run on other mainboards. Rather that it is a solid performer with a little something extra under the hood for NVidia 590 SLI board owners. Also, I'd fully expect the EPP profile to encompass future NVidia board offerings as well. Something extra under the hood... the stuff runs rock solid at 1116MHz!! Taking into considerations the performance, the XTC heatspreaders, the great overclockability and a lifetime warranty that even includes overvolting the DIMMs to 2.3v ±5% what else could you ask for? Between now and the end of the year, how does a $40 rebate sound. I was able to find these units on NewEgg for $262 and THEN there is a rebate. (Link to rebate here.) These DIMMS won an Editor's Choice Award for over the top merit alone and that was before I discovered the rebate. This is must have hardware for the DDR2 board shopper. Pros
